First Step

Jack your Ford truck up. You’ll need to do this to be able to remove the old rims. The next thing to do is to deflate the tires. This will have to be done one wheel at a time, ( unless you can lift the entire vehicle ). You need to deflate the tires in order to remove them from the old rims and mount them onto your new one’s.

Now you need to do is to loosen the lug nuts that are holding the rims in place. If the rims have been installed for a long time, this may require a bit of muscle power on your part, or you can use a hydraulic tool. Put the lug nuts in a safe place so you don’t lose any of them.

Now you need to mount your tires onto the new rims. This too can be a bit of a challenge if you don’t have to proper tools and equipment ( like a tire mounter ). When you’ve finished mounting your tires onto the new rims, you’re almost there. You just need to inflate the tires and mount your new wheel assembly onto each hub and then tighten them down using the correct amount of torque.

And . . . that’s pretty well all there is to it.

If this seems like a challenge beyond your abilities, you can have your new rims replaced by a qualified technician ( my preference . . . let someone else do all the hard stuff ).

There are plenty of places both online and offline where you can buy new Ford truck rims. Prices will vary on brand, style and seller. It’s important that you enure that you are buying genuine Ford Truck Rims for your truck. I you buy a knock-off, you run the risk of cracking, damage and possibly unsafe handling. This could result in having to replace them again at even more cost. So, do it right the first time!
